Frequently Asked Questions

 

If my car is still under warranty, do I have to take my car to the dealer to have it serviced?

All scheduled services may be performed at our shop without the worry of voiding your warranty.  It is a good idea to keep your receipts in case you do have a valid warranty claim, you will be asked to present them.

 

Do you use after-market parts like the other repair facilities other than the dealer?

We use only Volvo factory parts and factory approved parts manufactured by factories other than the Volvo factory.  i.e. Bosch, Boge, Nivomat, Michelin.

 

Can I drop off my car before or after your hours of operation?

Yes, just outside our office door we have a supply of envelopes that may be used to write any information regarding yourself (name, phone, etc) and a brief explanation of the reason for your bringing your Volvo to our shop.  You lock your Volvo, insert your key in the envelope, seal it, and push it through our key drop on the front door.  We will call you if we need any additional information.

 

Would you need to keep my car a few days or can I have it back the same day?

Most of the work needed is finished within that day.  If the repair is extensive or if we need to order a part that the dealer does not normally carry in their inventory, the car could stay at the shop additional days.

 

Do you sell tires?

We are in the process of preparing our shop with the necessary equipment to enable us to sell and install tires.  We will be selling all brands of tires for your Volvo and for all other makes of cars as well.  Our tentative date for tire sales is mid-July.



Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards as well as checks and cash.

 

How much training and experience do your technicians have?

Initially, all our technicians were dealer-trained at Volvo dealers.  Consequently, and to stay informed on current Volvo procedures, we maintain a current library of Volvo repair manuals as reference.  Their extensive experience by working for so many years on Volvo, makes our staff very knowledgeable.

 

Do you offer “loaners”?

Unfortunately, we don’t.  We do have a couple of car rental companies that will pick you up at the shop and provide you with transportation at a discount price.

 

Do you repair A/C Systems?

Yes.  All repair work on the entire A/C system can be done at our shop.  Our mechanics are also certified A/C technicians.

 

Do you rebuild transmissions?

We do not rebuild transmissions, but we will diagnose transmission problems, if you do have them.  We will then recommend that the transmission be replaced with one remanufactured at the Volvo factory.  In most cases this is a more economical and best way to correct your transmission problem.  Please take note that sometimes, what seem to be transmission problems, are not.

 

Do you guarantee your work?

We offer the same warranty as the dealer; one year or 12,000 miles on labor and parts, which ever comes first.  Warranties are for factory defects in their products and does not include normal 'wear and tear'.

 

Are vehicle repair records maintained in a computer for reference?

We have computer software that enables us to keep records of repair work on all vehicles.  It can also be printed out in case you decide to sell your car and want to give the new owner, records of the repairs performed.
